The Netherlands has one of the most heavily-used railway networks in Europe. David Feng gave a presentation was done over the Web to a local Beijing audience made up of members of a delegation from the Netherlands.

Making Sense of China HSR for the Dutch

The talk was a brief, 35-minute introduction to the railways of China, delivered by David Feng, who himself visited the Netherlands and travelled by rail, metro, and tram there as well.
The audience was briefed in five matters: how China built HSR for the future, a condensed history including troubled beginnings, the modal shift to trains, how China’s rail network is made and constituted, as well as Going Green and the «Belt and Road».
此次演講爲 35 分鐘簡介，由曾親自去過荷蘭並在當地搭乘鐵路、地鐵及電車列車的馮琰線上完成。
演講分爲五個主題：中國如何爲未來建設高鐵；簡短歷史包括複雜開始；開始向鐵路運輸進行的轉變；中國鐵路網如何建成/組成；以及綠色環保發展以及「一帶一路」工程。
The talk was optimised for a Dutch audience. Super-fast train tests in China were compared with how fast it would take to finish the whole Dutch HSL-Zuid line. Audiences were also given a rough idea of how far China is from the Netherlands, as well as pricing comparisons.
The audience enjoyed this presentation given in English, but with all slides in English and Dutch (the latter is an official language in David’s family, although English is used far more).
本次演講爲荷蘭受眾量身定做。中國高速鐵路試驗速度直接對比荷蘭高鐵南綫運行時間，同時進行地理距離介紹以及中歐車票票價差別介紹。
在場受眾十分喜歡本次演講，其內容以英文發表，但各幻燈片全部採取英荷雙語（因爲在馮琰家中，荷蘭屬於正式語言之一，即使大部分溝通以英文進行）。
