Switzerland and China are both highly looked up-to in the rail world. David Feng gave a talk in Zürich about the Chinese railway world at an event of the China Switzerland Connection.

Switzerland and China were both home to some amazing trains, including mountain railways, high speed rail, and more, but also how rail moved people between the cities.
David has been active in the Chinese railway community, with Swissness, through engagements including Everyday Rail English and more. He speaks therefore not just from the views of a passenger, but one who “co-built” the network.

In this special briefing, David brought viewers back to the very beginning for China’s HSR, on 01 August 2008, as he started his first-ever journey at Beijing South. He then tracked how the network grew, what new challenges were ahead, and how the future of the network will shape transport in China.
He also made frequent comparisons between the Chinese and Swiss systems, and last but not least, shared a few of his suggestions published about how to improve the Chinese railways.
在此特殊演講，馮琰將受眾帶回「中國高鐵第一天」，即 2008 年 8 月 1 日。在那一天，他由北京南站啟程，踏入中國高鐵界。之後，他持續關注路網擴展，發現新的發展與挑戰，以及未來鐵路網如何影響中國綜合交通。
